Cookies
Cookies are small data files that are stored on a user’s computer or mobile device when they visit a website. These files contain information about the user’s browsing habits on the website and are used to enhance the user experience by providing the user’s browser with faster access to the website’s content and features.
There are two types of cookies: first-party and third-party cookies. First-party cookies are created by the website that the user visits and are used to save information about the user’s visit and preferences. Third-party cookies, on the other hand, are created by an organization other than the website the user visits and are used to collect data about the user’s browsing habits across multiple websites.
Cookies can be either temporary or permanent. Temporary cookies, also known as session cookies, are only stored during the current web session and are deleted when the user closes the browser. Permanent cookies, on the other hand, are stored on the user’s device until they are either manually deleted or expire.
To comply with EU and other countries’ regulations, most websites today require user consent before cookies are stored on the device. Users must also be given the opportunity to choose which types of cookies they want to allow on the website.
Website owners must also inform users about the types of data collected through cookies and how this data will be used. This includes information about how long cookies will be stored on the device, which third-party cookies are used, and how users can block or delete cookies.
It is important to note that some websites may experience limitations in functionality if the user blocks or deletes cookies. For example, the website may forget the user’s preferences or fail to save products in a shopping cart if the user chooses not to allow permanent cookies.
Ultimately, it is up to each individual user to decide whether they want to allow cookies on the website or not. By providing users with information about cookies and the choice to block or delete them, websites can create a more transparent and responsible user experience.
At Marketpeople, we only use cookies to improve your experience on our website, and it is entirely up to you whether you want to disable them or not
